Natural Posing

When it comes time for your session, just relax and enjoy your time with your loved ones! I like to keep the sessions lighthearted and fun and can usually be found doing silly things to get kids (and adults) to smile.

Although candid moments seem like they just happened, the photographer usually plays a big part in setting the stage for the perfect moment. During your session I'll walk you through some classic poses with everyone looking at the camera and smiling as well as some fun candid moments with laughter and smiles.

FAQ

What time will my session take place?

Lighting makes all the difference when it comes to pictures. Sessions are scheduled at sunrise or or about an hour and a half before sunset in order to have the best natural light.

Where does the session take place?

I have a list of locations that I love to shoot at, but I'm also open to trying new places! If you have an idea in mind let me know, or look at past galleries for ideas of my previous locations.

What should I wear?

I have a style guide full of tips and tricks for picking outfits that flatter your features and coordinate well together. You will receive an email with the style guide after booking your session.

How are the pictures edited?

After each session I go through all of the images and select the best to edit and deliver in a final gallery. After all, you wouldn't want to receive a bunch of images with people's eyes closed, right? Then I go through each image to adjust the exposure, white balance, cropping and all that fun stuff using Adobe Lightroom. After they are all edited I export them to an online gallery for you to see and share with friends and family.

How long will it take for me to receive my images?

I know waiting for pictures is the worst so I try to get them back to you as soon as possible. If my kids would allow it, I would have them back the next day! Since that's usually not the case, expect your images to be delivered within two weeks of your session.

What happens if it is bad weather?

Once a session is scheduled I do my best not to cancel unless I don't feel confident that we'll be able to get the images you deserve due to the weather.

I'm always watching the weather forecast leading up to each session so we can make adjustments if needed. In fact, my husband teases me that I should have been a weatherman because I check the weather every morning to know what to wear for the day.

Sometimes we can wait for a gap in the rain or wind and sometimes it's best to just reschedule all together. I'll keep in touch with you during the days and hours leading up to your session and we can make a decision on what we feel comfortable with together.
